The elegant Joyce West Café was filled with well-dressed people that day. The room was quite spacious and comfortable. I barely remember what kind of  music they played, but I remember there was a feeling of sofistication throughout the whole room.  I dare to say that because Joyce West Café is located on Chin-Chun Street, this street is really distinctive in Taipei~ probably only in my heart.^^

Almost every table was served a three tiered server with plates filled with sandwiches and pastries. A set of high tea also consisted of two pots of hot tea, and the cost of it was roughly NTD858 for two people, miniral water and service fee included.

The top tiered:
I liked the salmon and tuna sanwiches,
yet Grace thought the toast was dried. ( Mm....I agree)

The middle tiered: mini scones, mini muffins, and deep-fried dim sum.

mini scones were really dried, we sprayed lots of clotted cream and jelly, but still  had difficulty to swallow them.
(Should have told waiters, but I was so joyful that I forgot to complain...) spring roll wasn't the food I expected. Seriously, Muffin was the only good thing on this tiered, I supposed.

The bottom tiered: sweet petit fours

They were all good, out of my surprise!  Never had that small-sized dessert before. I still remember ...
the crunchy taste of that nut tart, the creamy and rich custard of that white pastry and the satiny taste of that chocolatey cake.

Grace's tea was earl grey tea, and mine was mint tea.

Waiters always generously refilled our tea pots with steaming water while we were there. The service was so good; Grace and I really love that.

Joyce West Café! I really love to say it for it gives me the picture of style and reminds me of all the joyfull good memories when I was young and studied music in Taipei.

Though the high tea may not really be "the order to my heart's content",
the ambiance was & is  excellent indeed.
