４、５月台北「星」光燦爛，日本「彩虹」25日旋風來台３天辦演唱會，將於５月６日於台大綜合體育館開唱的唐麥克林，則因指定樂器難尋，讓主辦單位告急向粉絲求救。

      唐麥克林首度來台開唱，高齡63歲的他雖老當益壯，但和樂手們都希望能輕裝來台節省體力，因此要求主辦單位提供包括空心吉他、電吉他、電貝斯和共鳴器吉他及斑鳩琴在內的５把特定廠牌及型號樂器，讓工作人員頭痛不已，公開向粉絲求援。

      唐麥克林對樂器的要求一向嚴格，他在錄製〈美國派〉一曲時，使用的直立式鋼琴就是約翰藍儂過世前最後彈奏過的鋼琴。唐麥克林此行亞洲巡迴僅於韓國、台灣兩地開唱，最高票價１萬元、最低票價1200元票券皆已售完，他為催票，本周將接受台灣媒體越洋電訪，EMI也將於４月28日發行唐麥克林訪華精選輯《不朽傳奇The Legendary Don McLean》CD＋DVD。

　    唐麥克林啟發眾多音樂人，他以個人生活感受和社會觀察入歌，一曲走紅英美的〈美國派〉，雖是為啟發他音樂天分的知名音樂人巴弟荷利墜機意外而寫，但因後段歌詞直刺當時社會亂象，也成了反戰歌曲。

        反戰包袱讓唐麥克林一度拒絕在公開場合演唱這首歌，直到瑪丹娜翻唱讓〈美國派〉再翻紅，他才重新肯定這首歌的價值。對世人不斷追問這首歌曲的深層意義，唐麥克林自我解嘲：「這首歌代表，如果我不想工作，我就不必再工作了。」

  託韓國音樂祭之福 下周搶票

　    後期民謠歌手視唐麥克林為一代宗師，除了〈美國派〉，他經典曲包括包括〈And I Love You So〉、〈Vincent〉、〈Crying〉，更被貓王、喬治麥可爭相翻唱，國內則有齊豫重新詮釋他的創作。

　    唐麥克林近年歐美巡演不斷，近10年來台灣演唱會經紀公司也曾邀他來台，這次因為韓國舉辦「花力和平音樂祭」，邀請琳達朗絲黛、洛史都華、茱蒂柯林斯等6、70年代重量級歌手與會，唐麥克林也是其中之一，台灣才搶到他亞洲首唱行程，演唱會門票下周一起年代售票系統開賣。

1971年經典名曲〈美國派American Pie〉，所使用的錄音室鋼琴以標價37萬5千美元出售，唐麥克林也成為「絕『琴』人」! 
 

即將於五月六日、登上台大綜合體育館首次訪華開唱的唐麥克林Don McLean，為了最完美的現場演出，此次訪台演唱的隨行樂手，皆屬頂尖之選，樂手們被榮膺過巴布狄倫Bob Dylan、強尼凱許Johnny Cash、桃莉巴頓Dolly Parton的指定表演樂手。然而，唐麥克林與隨行團員儘管人尚未抵台、主辦單位卻緊急向台灣樂迷發出徵召令、尋找有「琴」人！原來，唐麥克林與隨行樂手所習慣使用的五把吉他，在台灣皆屬罕見、不易尋獲。遍尋不得的主辦單位，於是在唐麥克林訪台官方部落格（http://www.streetvoice.com/DonMcLean ）上公告這五把罕見的吉他型號，懇求若有台灣各地的吉他愛好收藏者，能夠友情站台、大方出借，好讓高齡六十好幾的唐麥克林與隨行樂手，能夠輕裝訪台、保留最佳體力，以為最完美的現場演出。 

訪台前先求「有『琴』人」，但唐麥克林卻也曾成為「絕『琴』人」！原來，唐麥克林在創作1971年經典名曲〈美國派American Pie〉時，所使用的錄音室鋼琴，正是披頭四Beatles成員約翰藍儂John Lennon死前最後彈奏的錄音室鋼琴。這台原屬於紐約Record Plant錄音室所擁有的錄音室鋼琴，充滿飽滿懷古音色的直立式鋼琴，共計包括唐麥克林、約翰藍儂、鮑伯狄倫Bob Dylan、何許人合唱團The Who樂團的彼得湯辛Pete Townshend等知名樂手，都曾使用彈奏過，甚至成為約翰藍儂在1980年遭槍殺身亡前、所彈奏過的最後一台鋼琴。這台堪稱大師級的錄音室鋼琴，最後被總部設在美國紐約市北區的紀念品專門公司Moments In Time，以標價37萬5千美元出售！鋼琴本身還附上工程師的簽名文件，證明這台鋼琴曾被以上多位知名樂手所彈奏使用過。 

根據全美電台的最新統計，被譽為「民謠歌手的啟蒙代表」的唐麥克林，光是〈文森（梵谷之歌）Vincent〉、〈我是如此愛你And I Love You So〉、〈白日夢Castles In The Air〉與〈美國派American Pie〉四首單曲，在全美電台的播放次數，至今已超過三百萬次！此外，唐麥克林也將在七月於加拿大「極光藝術節Northern Lights Festival Boreal」登台獻唱。唐麥克林的首肯演出，不但成為該藝術節的頭號人物（headline acts），主席Paul Loewenberg也表示：「戰爭動亂與拖辣斯產業，正快速消費整個社會與世界。因此，希望藉由邀請唐麥克林的登台演出，重新喚起人們對於文化與經典的美好良知。」 

唐麥克林「不朽傳奇The Legendary」世界巡迴演唱，將只在亞洲地區停留韓國(花的力量反戰和平音樂祭Flower Power Music Festicval) 與唯一個唱的台灣兩站，這位向來隨興的吉他詩人，在三月結束12場澳洲表演場次結束後，便啟程度假去。但為了替演唱會拜票，唐麥克林罕見地同意將在下週接受台灣媒體的越洋採訪。此外，為了迎接唐麥克林的到來，全台電台也將串連放送唐麥克林的經典名曲。加上過去十幾年來無論是電視劇《流星花園》、信用卡廣告曲〈Vincent梵谷之歌〉、台灣大樂透廣告曲〈And I Love you So〉以及齊豫的翻唱版本，主辦單位估計，唐麥克林排行經典作品在台播放次數，已突破100萬次以上。
