讓歌迷等待三年，天后瑪麗亞凱莉(Mariah Carey)終於宣佈在四月中發行她的第11張個人大碟，專輯名稱也從最早的「Sweet Soul Odyssey」、「That Chick」等，正式定案為【E=MC2】，靈感正是來自於愛因斯坦最著名的相對論，同時也巧妙結合她名字的英文縮寫。瑪麗亞的最新單曲“愛撫Touch My Body(暫譯)”美國地區選在西洋情人節前夕大首播，五天內就締造3300萬人次收聽成績，十分具有冠軍相，這首也將在今天(2/20)於Hit Fm聯播網首播。瑪麗亞十分具有創意的新專輯名稱在公佈之後，引起全球媒體與歌迷的熱烈討論，台灣環球音樂特別開放歌迷發揮創意，為天后的新專輯命名中文名稱。


瑪麗亞的上一張專輯【天后再臨】登上年度銷售冠軍，累積的冠軍單曲數量達到17首，穩坐最多冠軍女歌手的寶座，因此令人格外期待她將如何延續銷售佳績。新專輯【E=MC2】由唱片公司總裁L.A.瑞德(Antonio “L.A.” Reid)監製，超級製作人傑米杜普利(Jamie Dupri)擔任製作，而瑪麗亞則包辦大部份的詞曲創作，如此黃金陣容不難看出瑪麗亞想繼續穩坐一姐寶座的野心，瑪麗亞也自信地表示：「這是我目前最滿意的一張專輯。」新專輯美國地區將在4月15日發行。

新歌“愛撫”美國特別選在西洋情人節前夕首播，許多電台DJ特別把這首新歌放在播歌的A-list，五天內就締造3300萬人次收聽成績，許多樂評預測這將會是瑪麗亞歌唱生涯的第18首冠軍曲。這首新歌的歌詞十分輔導級，瑪麗亞唱道：「愛撫我的身體，把我撲倒在地，讓我們的軀體交纏在一起。」讓許多歌迷聽了臉紅心跳，歌詞也提到：「如果你拍下我倆纏綿的畫面，別讓我發現你把影片放到You Tube上，否則我會讓你好看。」
