Goodbye & Hello

Hey Guys,

It's probably been one of our darkest moments this year. Words cannot express the sorrow and anguish that I felt for all the victims of Szechuan's earthquake. In times like these, you do feel like a small microscopic organism, not able to do anything to prevent a natural disaster like that from happening, to prevent people from dying and losing their loved ones.
To all the children and innocent people who lost their lives, may angels be with you throughout.
To all the survivors, we are here with you. Stay strong and know that everyone of us is praying for you and doing the best we can to help you to rebuild your land.

Yes I am back. This is the time of the year(funny enough..same timing as last year). I'm holed up in my home studio, trudging steadily back on the songwriting road again and can't wait to share them with you. Very very rough, but I kinda like the vibe. Demos always have something that can never be reproduced in the actual record.
A little over zealous posting so many songs at one time...but what the heck hahha...they might appear in the new album or some other artistes album...trashed and forgotten. Let's see!
Check up on you guys soon. Back to the drawing board. Enjoy:-)

Hey Guys,

I'm still relishing every moment of the concert. Thank you thank you and thank you again!

It was incredible, nerve wrecking, emotional and exciting for all of us. I wish you could all feel what I was feeling and saw what I saw on stage. It was a moment where we all connected at all levels and I could feel everyone's presence.

We had a pretty chaotic day before the concert. Many things were still unfinished, the costumes left a few question marks, a couple of dramas here and there...and left me feeling a little unnerved and unsettled. But I have to say, the angels were with us on the day of the concert...as everything went unbelievably smooth! The musicians rocked the house down and I've never felt so much exuberance from them. For a few days worth of rehearsals, i really felt I had a family with me on stage. And for all my friends to be there with me on that night, working on our very first concert, I couldn't be a happier musician.

So the verdict is out. I'm hooked on concerts! Everyone's been very psyched after Hong Kong, so there's been a hustle and bustle behind the scenes now. We've got many calls from different concert promoters about bringing the concert to where they are. So....next up..Taiwan. Yes!!!...there are more to come and we will be announcing the news soon so keep our fingers crossed okay?!

一連四場的WOW Music演唱會在香港落下帷幕，最後一晚出場的是蔡健雅，這是蔡健雅出道十年來首場售票演唱會，雖然沒有炫麗的舞台效果、龐大的舞群，但歌迷用實際行動買光3000多張票，並五度全場起立為蔡健雅喝採，讓她相當感動，回到後台時喜極而泣。蔡健雅唱了多首自己的代表作，由《Goodbye & Hello》作開場曲，並以《Beautiful Love》終場，安可時全場歌迷齊聲合唱，讓蔡健雅久久不忍離開舞台。據悉，為了這次演唱會，蔡健雅不僅在台灣進行了不下十次的彩排，身為創作歌手的她，音樂與編曲的細節都親力而為，所有膾炙人口的曲目都經過蔡健雅重新編曲，唱出符合現在蔡健雅的味道。

Hey guys,

Yes...it's been too long since my last update. So this might come in a little tardy...but I hope everyone's had a wonderful Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day:-)
So I've just got back from my annual solo trip to somewhere in seek of solitude, downtime, self-reflection, you know the drill...lol. Indeed. 2007 has been such an intense, exhausting yet self-fulfilling year for me, so much to digest. Stuck through the guts and dove headlong through the changes and challenges. The thought provoking part is, so....what next? This is one of those periods where I get a little of that panic attack, as the dust settles, you start to think how to raise that sand storm within your life again, yet your mind is a blank sheet of converse, you wonder if you can paint another picture out of nothing.
Nevertheless, there are still things to be done, songs to be sung and most importantly, a concert coming up on the 4th of March in Hong Kong! My first ticket selling one! I am extremely psyched for it. Took quite abit of energy to kick start my gear as we started rehearsals two days after I came back from my self indulgent trip..but the feeling was still...wow... It's an amazing feeling when you actually get to run through your whole list of songs over the last 10 years. Through these songs, you feel like you're walking down a memory lane, reliving some poignant moments in your life, realizing how much you've evolved as a musician and as a person, and even notice how your vocals have taken on a life of it's own. The old songs will never sound the same again, as you can never bring back that innocence and simplicity that you once had. Yet, there is a chance to breathe new life to them with what you feel and who you've become till now. That's what I really love about this upcoming concert. The musicians are amazing too...I think I have a really wonderful team of players who just came into the room and rocked the house down. There was this sense of unspoken chemistry from the first note we played. The most fun part were the times when the groove went out of the pocket or felt out dated, we would replay them again, improvise on the spot and suddenly get a brand new vibe to the song. I can't help but to gush over them ..

So, that's it! Time is ticking and I guess I'll see you guys at the finishing line!

hi guys,

it's me again. sorry this has to be in english again as i'm rushing off to perform in an hour's time. haven't really had time to sit down to read everything that you all have written and i do feel bad..i wish i had more time. but the traveling has been crazy..

just came back from beijing last night and had the chance to see a little showcase by 方大同. i do think he's really someone to look out for in 2008! you guys should check him out too:-)

oh yes, i wanted to come by to tell you guys too, something's weird with my myspace. I think some of you tried to request to be added as friends but had some problems.. thing is, i haven't gotten any friends request for the last few weeks..i think it requires CAPTCHA? a password that will be generated by the computer. all you have to do is type in what it generates..i hope it helps. otherwise, i really don't know what's going on!

Wanna thank Jennifer for the interview. Really had fun despite the bad long distance phone reception lol....

Hey folks,

sorry haven't been writing much these days. just dropping by to say i'm alive and well. the new album is out and what a ride it has been since! thank you sooooo much for all the support and the kind words. you have no idea how much they mean to me.
traveling has been crazy. from the first base taipei, i've moved on to china...yes. the land of the billion and we've been from one city to another ..shanghai, chengdu(oh by the way! i finally saw a real panda!!!!!well..a few actually ), beijing(where i currently am writing this blog from...)and we're off to nanjing tomorrow as our last stop for the first league of promo in china. i must have repeated myself a million times..spoke till my voice turned hoarse, sang my heart out and ate ALOT of chinese food...some with msg and some without. i am very china-fied right now...yet still writing in english as usual lol
all is good. i do whine about why i have to talk and talk all the time, much to the annoyance and lack of empathy from my colleagues..why can't i just sing and sing to make up for the lack of talking...i guess that's show biz!
other than that...nothing else to update cept for my frequent wondering where my next destination of hideaway will be once the promo is over....maybe timbuktu...hmmm

Still nursing a damn flu. Longest one ever. Had it since I came back from NY and it's not going away. It could all be the accumulation of stress and pressure throughout the production. But nothing can rain on my spirits   :-) So......let's start the countdown
